A CCT Challenge and a GIVEAWAY!!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is happy once again to be sponsoring this month's Cute Card Thursday sketch challenge!!! It's a super fun sketch and works so well with a lot of our images!

I decided to play with the new Punkin Family stamp by the wonderful Emilie Goulet! I hadn't coloured this gourd-geous trio yet....heehee! These Echo Park Halloween papers are my favourite at the moment, so I used them again as the colours are perfect!!

I stamped the punkins on Neenah white cardstock using Memento ink and coloured them up with my Copics. The base is a 5.5 ins square and I used some purple and green cardstock for matting. All the 'stitching' was done by hand using a Copic multiliner (so much quicker than pulling out my sewing machine) and the bats I added are actually cut from a fabric ribbon. Finally I added the simple little sentiment which comes with Happy Vampy!

I hope you can join us for the CCT challenge this week.....you could win two stamps of your choice!!

AND we also have some more exciting news!! Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is excited to have a full-page feature in the fall issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine and we want to celebrate! TEN lucky stampers will each receive all four of the main images used on the four cards. All you have to do is leave a comment on THIS post telling us which KKStamp is your absolute favorite. You have until September 10th at midnight EST to leave your comment. Winners will be announced on September 11th. You can check out the page, see close-ups of the four cards, find instructions to make each and leave your comment, all on that post.

Good luck and happy kraftin'!

The End of the KREEPY KRAFTY HOP!!!

We hope you've been thoroughly BEWITCHED by today's Kreepy Krafty Hop!!! Aren't the new stamps SPOOKTACULAR!??! Well, I've got one more card to share with you!!!

I decided to play with the lovely Moaning Moira!! Hehe! Isn't she a hoot!? Yes, she's a bit kreepy but doesn't she look happy about it?? I used a mixture of scraps of Halloween papers that I had leftover from last year and mixed them up to make a funky layout. Then I coloured Moira up to match with my Copic markers.

I used my Nesties to cut and emboss Moira using the 'out of the box' technique and then I sponged everything with a nice ghoulish layer of Black Soot distress ink. The stitches were drawn on by hand with my Copic multiliner, I added a big bat punch, some black ric rack and sprinkled a few black rhinestones here and there.

I had to make Moira look a little sparkly, so I added Stardust Sakura gel pen to her little wings. Then I finally finished off the card by adding the sentiment that comes with Moira!!!

Well, that's it for our Kreepy Krafty Hop!! Now hop on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop where ALL the new stamps are available!! And don't forget the Gimme Kimmies Kits which are only around for a short time!

Happy haunting!!!

Happy Vampy!!!

Today it's time to see what Emilie Goulet has for us!! There are FIVE adorable new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps from her for our Haunting Halloween release!!!

Meet Happy Vampy! I think this little vampire girl and her kitty cat are SO happy that it's Halloween! Are they smiling so big because it's time for candy?? I think so! Don't you just love it when kids smile so big that they close their eyes?? Such pure joy, written all over their faces! And that cat is just cute as a button!!!

I pulled out my favourite Echo Park ghoulish papers and coloured Happy Vampy up in coordinating colours using my Copic markers! I used my wonky (or are they reverse wonky?) rectangle Nesties and cut her out. The I traced the same Nestie onto orange cardstock and cut it out by hand, that way I had a matting layer that was close to the same size. I do this often when the set of Nesties has too much space between each size. Fun little trick to make the most of your Nesties!

I sponged some of the patterned paper with Black Soot distress ink and matted using textured purple cardstock. I added some lovely folded ribbon across the middle, attached two black cat buttons on the right and stamped the sweet little sentiment that comes with Happy Vampy!! Ain't she sweet?!!

Hop on over to the KKS Challenge Blog and see who else has stuffs ta shows ya today!! And be sure to leave comments at each stop for that chance to WIN all FIVE of the images you'll see today! And come on back tomorrow when we'll have SIX Batty and Friends stamps from Annie Rodrigue to share PLUS a brand new KKS Challenge!!!

Happy kraftin'!!

I stamped the image on Neenah with Memento ink and coloured her up with my Copics. The card is a regular A2 sized black base and the patterned papers are from Echo Park. I added some purple twine and then stamped the sentiment that comes with the image and created a little flag and attached it with a glittery purple brad!!

Challenge 90 - Are You Distressed???

This week's Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge was perfect for me. I'm stressed. Haha! Who isn't, right? Well, I've got a lot on my plate right now, so taking it out on my card for this week was perfect!!!

Our hostess this week is the always enchanting, Melanie!! She has asked us to DISTRESS our creations.....be it inking them up, distressing the edges, makin' it grungy and dirty....just be sure to get rough with your stuff!! haha! We hope you can play along this week and if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp, you could be the random winner of the stamp used on Melanie's card.....just WAIT 'til you SEE it!!!

I hadn't had a chance to play with Melanie yet (convenient isn't it, that I used Melanie for Melanie's challenge? Bahahahahaha!), from our newest Travel Girls release! Shame, shame! So I inked her up and started colouring with my Copics! It's a 6x6 card with dark brown for the base and red and green for matting. The papers I used are from the new Oxford collection by Basic Grey. The edges of every piece of patterned paper and the main layer were all inked up with Walnut Stain distress ink and then everything was roughed up with my distressing tool. You can also just open up a pair of sharp scissors and use them....it does the same thing and that's often what I do (when I can find my tool).

I added a little cluster of red flowers with leaves and tied some red twine around the bottom of the main layer. And lastly I stamped the sentiment that comes with Melanie and added it at the top!

You will notice the lovely sketch that I used today....in fact several of the Krafty Girls used it! That's because Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is thrilled and excited to be sponsoring the August Sketch For You To Try challenge!!! Hop on over to their blog today and you'll find your way to some MORE creations featuring our stamps! And you can join in the sketch challenge too!!

Hop on over to our challenge blog and check out all our inspiring cards from the Krafty Girls today....and join us.....and get distressed!!

Lots of fun this week! Happy kraftin'!

Challenge 89 - WHAT????

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! That's me screaming after finding out the challenge for this week! Started having heart palpitations and everything!!! hahaha!

Our fabulous hostess this week (and big ol' meanie....*giggle*) is DONNA!!! She has asked us to make a card with NO EMBELLISHMENTS!! Say whaaaaaaaaaaaat??? That's right....NO embellishments!! No ribbon, no buttons, no brads, no twine, no nuthin'!! We are allowed to use any kinds of paper....punches....and sewing, but that's pretty much it. Now do you see why I screamed?

I honestly can't make a card without most of that stuff on it...at the same time. So this was obviously a super hard challenge for me. But I did it! yaaaay! I used the lovely Mizuki for my creation and I pulled out some fun shiny papers from the Taj Mahal collection from DCWV. They have pretty gold flowers on them and I thought they looked perfect with the image.

I coloured Mizuki up using coordinating Copic markers and only decorated my card with strips of paper and a few flower punches. I think the papers were fancy enough that I didn't really need much else! I also decorated the inside of the card (which I never do) and added the sentiment that comes with the stamp!

Now hop on over to the challenge blog and check out the other embellishment-less cards for your inspiration!! And don't forget that this week's Frugal Friday specials and also our July Gimme Kimmies Kits are only available until Sunday night!!

Happy kraftin'!

Challenge 88 - A Sketch by TARA!!

I LOVE me a sketch....don't you?? Takes all the guesswork out of creating a card. For me, the creative process just seems to run so much smoother when I have a sketch to start things off!

This week the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge is a fantastic sketch from the one and only, TARA!! It's got lots of layers, which I love and the main panel is the perfect size for any of our stamps!!

I decided to use one of the new Cheryl Alger stamps from the July release, because I hadn't had a chance to ink her up yet! I used the adorable, Bookworm Jaime, which I happened to name after a little friend who happens to be almost as much of a bookworm as I am!! hehe.

With the sketch already out of the way, all I really had to do was choose the image and the papers! The patterned papers are from one of my many My Mind's Eye 6x6 pads and I coloured the image up with coordinating Copic markers. I used my oval Nesties to create the main panel, added lots of layers of papers, added some matching bakers twine and a corduroy button! Lastly, I added the fun sentiment that comes with Bookworm Jaime!!

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch challenge and you can hop on over to the challenge blog to check out more creations to inspire you by the lovely Krafty Girls! And don't forget that not only are our new July Stamps available, but we have this weekend's Frugal Friday specials available until tomorrow!

Happy kraftin'!!

Last Stop on the HOP!!

Well, you've reached the last stop on today's July Krafty Hop!! Wasn't it amazing?? Such gorgeous creations from all of our Krafty Girls and Special Krafty Guests!!

Well, I've got one more! This is the Partridge Family! Aren't they a HOOT? I just love this trio of birdies! They are just so joyful in son!!

I used some papers from a My Mind's Eye 6x6 pad and coloured them up with my Copics to coordinate. This is a regular A2 sized card and I used a deep blue for the card base. I popped up a couple of star punches and added some red twine with a pretty bow! Lastly I stamped a sentiment that comes with the Jukebox from our 50's release! I thought it was perfect!

Now you can head on over to your final destination, the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop, where ALL the new stamps are NOW available!! And I'm happy to tell you that once again, we have the Gimme Kimmies Kits available, but only for a limited time! So scoopy them up before they are gone!!

Happy kraftin'....and happy shoppin'!!!

Have a Picture Perfect Day!

Meet my friend, JEANNIE!!! This is one of the awesome new Traveling Girls from Annie Rodrigue for our July release......which happens to be TOMORROW!!! All six of these lovely ladies will be available at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop tomorrow and we'll be doing our usual Krafty Hop with prizes to celebrate!!

It's also time for a new challenge over on the blog and this week we need to finish the inside of our cards. This is definitely a challenge for moi!! I NEVER finish the inside of a card unless I am giving it away that very day!! Haha! I see my pal Michele always finishing her cards completely and they look so gorgeous and.....well, complete! I'm envious! So I took this challenge on!!

I used the new US travel girl, named JEANNIE!! I actually named her after one of my dearest stampin friends....and fellow Krafty Girl, Jeanne Streiff!! I love this gal in front of the Statue of Liberty! She looks like she's having a great day touring around, doesn't she?? I like how these images can be used on cards or also on travel scrapbook pages! Or if you didn't want the statue, you could just cut out the girl part of the image!

The papers I used just arrived on my doorstep this past week! They are from the Travel Forever 6x6 papers by Best Creation and I ordered them from One Crazy Stamper....another fabulous Canadian online store! I made a green card base, added some peach matting and used a diecut sheet with the scalloped edge, glitter and car image across the bottom. I added some wrinkled ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique, some button brads and a 'travel' diecut from the pack.

Then I finished the inside rather simply, with some glittery patterned paper across the bottom, attached with four brads and I stamped Jeannie again in coordinating ink, leaving room for a note to the recipient!!

So I hope you can join us for this week's super fun challenge and be sure to hop around the Krafty Girls' blogs to see how they finished the inside of their cards. And come on back tomorrow for our Release Day Krafty Hop with prizes and of course, all the new stamps will be available at the SHOP!!!

See you then!!

Today we're sharing Krafty Peeks from the July Release at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and they'll ALL be available come Sunday!! This day is dedicated to the lovely art from...Cheryl Alger!! This month's new stamps are so sweet and fun to play with!

I used Back to School Katie for my peekie card! I actually named her after a sweet little girl I know.....*wink*!! I stamped her up on Neenah cardstock and coloured her with my Copics. I found this fun alphabet paper in one of the new My Mind's Eye pads, so it was perfect!

I used these lovely Nesties to create the frame for Katie, added some large felt rick rack that I picked up at a dollar spot and added a trio of felt flowers. I attached them with large brown brads and then added the sentiment that comes with Katie! Isn't she cute??

Hop on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog and you'll find the list of Krafty Girls and Guests who are sharing peeks today! Would you like to win some?? Simply leave a comment at each stop and you'll be entered to win the entire release of Cheryl Alger July stamps!!

Meet Speedy the Turtle!!

Today we're sharing Krafty Peeks from the July Release at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and they'll ALL be available come Sunday!! This day is dedicated to the uber talented....Emilie Goulet!! Can I just say.....what a creative genius?!! Her designs are so creative and each image has such personality....especially the one I'm sharing today!

Meet.....Speedy the Turtle!!! Don't you LOVE him??? Last month we debuted Sunny the Turtle and I think Speedy is his athletic cousin, what do you think? And he was a real hoot to colour!

The card base is a 6x6 square in chocolate chip and I used red to mat. The patterned papers are from one of the new My Mind's Eye 6x6 pads...which I LOVE! I used a green piece and cut out three layers using a grass border die and layered them over one another, tied some red twine and added a red button.

For colouring Speedy, I had fun because it's not a huge image but there is enough of each area to do some shading. I think his shell turned out well and his green skin was especially fun. I coloured and shaded it and then went back over and used the dotting technique to add some texture in the shaded areas. Lastly, I used one of Roxy's sentiments, because it is perfect for Speedy!

Now if you head over to the KKStamps Challenge Blog, there's a list of all the Krafty peeps who have peeks to share and be sure to leave comments at each one, because somebody is going to WIN the whole set of five new stamps from Emilie that are being shown today!!! It could be YOU!!

And come on back tomorrow because we've got new stamps from Cheryl Alger to show ya!!

Happy kraftin'!

Kimmie's New Sympathy Set!

Today is the first day of Krafty Peeks with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and we are kickin' things off with a brand new sentiment set!!

Now, no one likes to have to make sympathy cards, but unfortunately, it's necessary. And so many of my customers have asked for an elegant set of stamps to make sympathy cards with and you know I aim to please!!!

Soooo.....today we are sharing our new Sympathy Sentiments set. The beautiful floral image with this set was drawn by the talented Emilie Goulet! It's a really nice size and fun to colour. The set comes with eight thoughtful phrases in different fonts.

I stamped the image on Neenah cardstock with Memento ink and used my Copic markers to colour it up. I used BG70, BG0000, BG000, BG72 and BG75 on the petals. I coloured the petals in flicks and then went back over it and used the dotting technique as well to give it more texture. I did the same thing on the stem and leaves, using G20, G24, G82, G85 and G99. On the center of the flower I used Y21, Y26 and Y28.

I cut out the main image with my square nesties and sponged around the frame with wheat chalk ink. Then I used my new fancy nesties and cut out this elegant frame from Blue Bayou cardstock. I'm really happy with it. It's the first time I've used these particular nesties and I think it's a perfect style for an elegant card.

The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and I had originally planned to use several pieces of different patterns from the pad, but I ended up just using the one. The finished card is 5.5 ins square. I added some white ribbon and a bow and then a trio of pearls. Lastly I stamped one of the sentiments on the bottom corner.

I think this flower is just stunning and I've seen some of the other Krafty Girls' creations with it and they are incredible, so be sure to hop over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog to see who has peeks to share today!

I like that this image can be used with the sympathy sentiments but also for any elegant card! You can change it up just by switching out the sentiments......say, a Thinking of You card....a congratulations card, an elegant Happy Birthday...and lots of others!

So how would you like to win this set??? Just leave a comment on each of the Peek posts today and you could be a random winner! I'll announce the winner on the KKS blog tomorrow!! And come on back for more peeks from our July release!!!

Happy kraftin'!!

TAG!! You're IT!!

This week I'm the hostess over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge blog!! And I wanna play TAG!! haha! And you're IT!!

So this week we'd like you to either make a tag or include a tag of some sort on your card or scrapbook page! That's easy, right?!

I whipped up a cute little gift tag to include on a birthday gift! I used Becky Broadsword for my main image, along with some scraps of paper from my stash....I think all the papers are from My Mind's Eye.

I started out with a medium sized shipping tag and altered it with the paper and distressed everything with my scissors. I added some kraft cardstock, a little bit of brown crochet lace, a button and some linen thread.

I coloured up Becky with my Copic markers and cut her out with a Nestie and then sponged around the frame with wheat chalk ink. I added some felt ribbon at the top and tied a bow with brown linen thread. And lastly, I finished off the tag with a sentiment from our Pirate Sentiments set!!

We hop you can play along with us this week.....I mean, you are IT! And if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp on your creation, you could win Becky Broadsword PLUS two more Steven Leary stamps of your choice!!! That's awesome!!

OH! And don't forget about our FRUGAL FRIDAY SPECIALS that are up right now, but only until Sunday!!

'Cause we are living, in a material world....and I am a Material Girl!!

Man, that song brings back the 80's!!! Oh how I loved Madonna and her music is the soundtrack to my high school life! So funny!

So this week our hostess is the incredible Melanie and she wants us to use some sort of material or fabric on our creations!!

I pulled out the lovely Eleanor, since it is summertime now! I love her old fashioned bathing suite and cap, don't you!? I used some lovely sparkly papers from DCWV with coordinating cardstocks and coloured her up with my Copic markers to match.

For the 'material' on my card, I used some matching felt and made a trio of rolled roses! I love the way they turned out and will have to make them again soon! I added some pearls in the felt flowers as well as the ones on Eleanor's cap! Then I added some white satin ribbon and a bow. The sentiment is one from our Beachy Sentiments set!

Hope you can join us for this week's fun challenge and perhaps you can win some new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps rubber! Don't forget to scoop up this week's Frugal Friday specials, also this is your last chance to grab the June Gimme Kimmies Kits!!

Challenge 84 - Sunny Makes a Splash!!

*SIGH* Oh how I love Saturdays!!! Not only because it's the weekend, but also because it's challenge day at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!! Gotta say, I love to have an excuse to colour up any of the new KKStamps!! And this week, we're makin' a splash!!

Our wonderful hostess this week is the loverly Michele and she wants us to create anything with a water theme....so beachy, mermaids, poolside, rain....anything wet or watery!

Sooooooo.....I was thrilled to be able to ink up one of my new stamps from our newest artist, Emilie Goulet! This is Sunny the Turtle and isn't he just a pip?? Just love that cheesy grin and I can almost see him wiggling his eyebrows at me!!

I stamped him on Neenah cardstock with Memento ink and used my Copic markers to colour him up. I'm quite happy with how it turned out but I'm not sure you can see all the dotting I did on him to accentuate the shading. It took a long time but I'm thrilled with how it turned out. I'm not so thrilled with the water....I'm not too skilled at creating water with markers just yet....practice, practice I guess.

I cut the main image out and embossed it using one of my newer Nesties and then I sponged in the clouds with a hand cut cloud template that I made. I think they look pretty cool.

So that was the hard part of the card made......and then I decided to challenge myself a little more! I mean, why not?! Well, my poor sewing machine hasn't been used in......at least a year, so I dusted her off and after a couple of practice runs and adjustments........I sewed on both layers......and IT DIDN'T EAT MY CARD!!!! Will wonders never cease?? I couldn't believe it! I'm not the best seamstress to say the very least, and usually I'm cursing at the darn thing but this time...no problemo!!!

I added some ribbon, a turtle charm, some glittery candy dots in the corner and then stamped one of the many perfect sentiments from our Beachy Sentiments set!! Voila!!

Now I really hope you can join us for this week's challenge.....and if you use one of your own Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, you could win the beautiful stamp featured on Michele's gorgeous card! Now hop on over to the KKStamps Challenge Blog and check out what the rest of the Krafty Girls have to show ya!!

Happy kraftin'!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and Cute Card Thursday!

We are thrilled once again to be sponsoring this week's Cute Card Thursday sketch challenge! It's another fun sketch to play with that fits our images perfectly!!

For my card, I used the lovely new Butterflies Flutter By from one of our newest artists, Cheryl Alger. This little cutie was so fun to colour! And I sponged around the main image with brown ink to distress it a little bit.

The card base is a 6x6 in chocolate brown and I used red and a pale green for matting. The pretty patterned papers are from one of my new Lime Twists pads by MME. I found a cute polka dotted one that I used to paper piece her shirt!

I added some of my new ruffled ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique and a trio of Prima roses. Lastly I stamped the sentiment that comes with the image and cut it out with my scalloped oval punch.

Now be sure to join us for this fun sketch challenge and hop over to the CCT Challenge blog to check out some lovely inspiration! If you play along, you could win some new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps of your choice!!

Happy kraftin'!
